Violation of California State's Orders / Fine up to $500
On March 19, 2020, Governor Gavin Newsom issued a new executive order regarding COVID-19 in California that requires all citizens living in the state of California to stay home or at their place of residence except those with first necessity jobs and those under medical emergencies. The Order became effective and enforced as a law on the very same day that Governor Newsom issued it, and will remain enforced until further notice. The order is strictly enforceable under California law which indicates any person who violates the Order can be prosecuted for a misdemeanor offense under the law and, if found guilty, the penalty can go from a ticket or fine for being out, imprisonment, or even both and the fine may be up to $500 for the violation.
